The run

Trail report

Churn Creek is the trail that separates the weekend rigs from the builds. On the dry ranchland above the Fraser River, the route climbs a series of brutal basalt ledges and boulder gardens where spotting is mandatory and winching is common.

The high points give you 360-degree views down into the deep gorge of the Fraser and across the Gang Ranch country — some of the most remote-feeling landscape in southern BC.

Go in a minimum of two built vehicles with full recovery gear, and check seasonal closures with the local 4x4 club before committing. Summer heat here is desert-level serious.
