About this campsite
Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park (Áísínai'pi) is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site located in the Milk River valley of southern Alberta. The campground sits under a lush canopy of cottonwood trees along the winding Milk River, framed by dramatic sandstone cliffs and coulees.
Overlanders and campers can explore designated hiking trails through the hoodoos, join guided interpretative tours of ancient Blackfoot petroglyphs and pictographs, or tube down the Milk River on warm summer days.
Campsites offer powered and unserviced options. Due to high demand during summer months, advance reservations through Alberta Parks are strongly advised.
