The spot

About this campsite

Located along Sibbald Creek Trail (Highway 68) west of Cochrane and Bragg Creek, the Sibbald Public Land node offers quick access to the foothills and front ranges of the Rocky Mountains. The area encompasses public land staging sites near the historical Bar C grazing allotments.

The location serves as a versatile trailhead for equestrian users, hikers, dual-sport motorcyclists, and winter snowmobilers. Dispersed camping on adjacent public land allows self-contained overlanders to camp close to Calgary and Cochrane.

Vehicle access requires a Kananaskis Conservation Pass ($90 annual or $15 daily per vehicle). Basic vault toilets are maintained at the staging parking area. Campers must adhere to Wildlife Management Unit restrictions and seasonal closures.

What makes it worth the drive
