About this campsite
Fish Lake Campground (Shunda Lake) is situated 7 km west of Nordegg along the David Thompson Highway corridor. Nestled in dense lodgepole pine and spruce forest, the park features over 100 campsites, including powered loops and unserviced lakeside stalls.
The lake is stocked regularly with rainbow and brook trout, making it a favorite for fly fishing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and canoeing. Electric motor boats are permitted, preserving a quiet water environment.
A scenic 4 km walking trail loops around the lake, connecting to historic coal mining trails and wilderness staging areas in the Bighorn Backcountry.
